AND BY HIS STRIPES, WE ARE HEALED – The Mind of The Flesh is Death: The Mind of The Spirit is Life And Peace & A LAYMAN’S ANALOGY OF CELL DEATH DURING A VIRAL INFECTION

To-Believe-REMEMBER-PAST-GOODNESS-OF-GOD

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. (Romans 1:4)

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. (Romans 1:4)

In this series we will be looking at:

  1. Grace To Believe
  2. Repentance
  3. The Mind of The Flesh is Death: The Mind of The Spirit is Life And Peace.
  4. Intuition
  5. Fellowship
  6. Conscience
  7. The Pursuit of The Perfection of Christ Jesus

In times like this when people are looking for answers to calamities we see around us; it is very pertinent that we have a grasp of the fact that:

THE SALVATION OF MAN IS FROM THE GIFT OF CHRIST AND ALL GIFTS OF CHRIST ARE COMMUNICATED TO US AND GIVEN TO US BY THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST – THE HOLY SPIRIT.

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN HEART OF MANKIND BASED ON THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS AT CALVARY & ITS BENEFITS FOR MANKIND

Two Major Aspects of The Redemption of Mankind:

FIRSTLY, THE FORGIVENESS OF OUR SINS

The aspect of the work of our Lord Jesus which is represented by ‘the Blood’ shed for our justification through “the remission of sins”.

AND SECONDLY OUR DELIVERANCE FROM SIN

The aspect of His work represented by ‘the Cross’: That is to say, by our union with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. We have been “crucified” with Christ.

THE BLOOD DEALS WITH WHAT WE HAVE DONE AS IT DISPOSES OF OUR SINS while THE CROSS DEALS WITH WHAT WE ARE, AS IT STRIKES AT THE ROOT OF OUR CAPACITY FOR SIN

THE ANALOGY OF CELL DEATH DURING A VIRAL INFECTION

The regulation of cell death during a viral infection is an important determinant in the struggle between virus and host for survival. Two forms of cell death feature prominently, one is necrosis, defined as a passive and non‐physiological type of death caused by accidental and acute damage to the cell, and the other is apoptosis, defined as an active and genetically regulated process of cell suicide by which an organism eliminates senescent, abnormal and potentially harmful cells. These two forms of cell death are distinguishable by their morphological and biochemical effects on the cell. However, recent studies have shown that necrosis is also highly regulated and can play essential roles in maintaining homeostasis in healthy cells as well as in the elimination of infectious pathogens

Necrosis (from Ancient Greek νέκρωσις, nékrōsis, “death”)

Is a form of cell injury which results in the premature death of cells in living tissue by autolysis.[1] Necrosis is caused by factors external to the cell or tissue, such as infection, toxins, or trauma which result in the unregulated digestion of cell components.

Apoptosis (from Ancient Greek ἀπόπτωσις “falling off”)

In contrast, apoptosis is a naturally occurring programmed and targeted cause of cellular death. While apoptosis often provides beneficial effects to the organism, necrosis is almost always detrimental and can be fatal

Because just as:

The Mind of The Flesh Is Death can be likened to Necrosis & The Mind of The Spirit Is Life And Peace to Apoptosis

The Word of God tells us that –

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. FOR THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS HATH MADE ME FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1-4)

Jesus is the answer to our every need. I Him is “the fruit of the Spirit” as one (Gal. 5:22) and not of `fruits’ as separate items. God has given us His Holy Spirit, and when love is needed the fruit of the Spirit is love; when self control is needed the fruit of the Spirit is joy. It is always true. It does not matter what your personal deficiency, or whether it is a hundred and one different things, God has one sufficient answer — His Son Jesus Christ, and He is the answer to every human need.

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. (Romans 3:21-26)
